Enigma
A podcast exploring the emerging science of Machine (and Human) Consciousness
Machine
Do we need new physics to explain consciousness? Is it computational, substrate independent, and can be uploaded, copied and cloned?
Is it still you if you upload yourself? What are you? How does the quantum soup of the world cohere in your mind's eye and what can neuroscience tell us about the emergence of self once we fully unlock this neuro-biological puzzle that makes us who we are?
Consciousness
Can we change and reprogram our minds and interface with machines as seamlessly as we interface with our own bodies?
Can AI ever be conscious? Should it be? Is it more dangerous that way or more aligned with us, humans?
Illusion?
Will it be a mere Golem? A perfect simulacrum of a perfectly conscious entity, a dangerously convincing illusion..
A false God in a machine?
But most importantly:
How would we ever know?
The goal of this podcast is to facilitate scientific discourse and cross-pollination of ideas within the community of machine consciousness research to drastically speed up the maturation of this field and of our scientific understanding of consciousness.
Because we are moving much faster towards the AGI than towards our understanding of what it will be.
